Ephesians 1 – 3: An Overview (2 of 2)

Scripture: Ephesians 1 to 3

In Ephesians chapters 1 to 3, Paul explains that God is to be praised for all spiritual blessings he has given to believers through Jesus Christ.

Although we might think of praising God as saying prayers, singing hymns or praise songs, and those are indeed forms of praising, Paul explains in chapters 4 to 6 that an important way of praising God is to live our lives as a direct response to his grace.1

So the whole book of Ephesians is related to the main theme of living our life to praise / glorify God.

Sometimes this main theme is overlooked if we do not pay attention to the overall structure or line of thought of the author.

Hopefully the video will help a little in bringing out the structure and line of thought of Paul in Ephesians.2

  1. See, for example, Ephesians 4:1.
  2.  As this series on Ephesians is not on principles of bible study, I will skip some details for now. Hopefully some day we will do some study on bible study.

  1. Thanks for providing this comprehensive structure and outline in one place for Chapter 1-3 -very clear! I paused the video several times in order to take some notes, and will need to go back to review all those previous posts.

The voice synthesizer sounds better this time.

    • Glad that you find it useful, and thanks for your feedback!

I actually found a different voice for this video, and yes it sounds better. I think this is the best one I have found so far. 🙂 The technology still needs to improve a little, but I guess it works ok for our practical purposes.
